#895 - SPIKETON DITCH BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

The Spiketon Bridge was an important one for Pierce County because it bridged the Spiketon Creek gap on the Foothills Trail, creating the missing connection to complete the trail. There was a bridge in this place before, but it was demolished before Ceccanti arrived on site. We were tasked with construction of a 160 Foot long, pre-engineered modular steel bridge. We also had to build new abutments for this bridge. The challenge was setting this bridge in a small footprint. We did this using a girder launcher and then shifting the bridge into place once it spanned the ditch. Check out the Time-Lapse video below to see the project from start to finish.
